On June 27, 2016, DBCO-Africa initiated two livelihood improvement projects designed to impact lives of the neediest rural Burji families. These sustainable pilot projects were based on the distribution of 3 goats (2 female and 1 male) per family for 15 selected families. Donations of small animals such as goats to needy families have been demonstrated to enhance the wealth of poor families. In addition, the milk from these animals is known to be a good source of food for children. Goats are easy to care for and are hardy animals.
